The participants will bring examples of not very known poetry and stories, told by migrants and women to this meeting and they will make different kinds of performances together, based on these texts. Pupils during lessons will present their contributions to each other. Together a performance is created. A performance presented at school. and for parents. Teachers will lead critical discussion and analyze texts together with students. The teachers document and evaluate and expand the Virtual Book.
The program and studies were made in Lovosice, Tjeckien
Mission and purpose:
What: The task was to visualize and present two researchers from each country. Each design / visualization should activate the viewer. It can be by touching, feeling or otherwise interactively communicating with the viewer of the work.
At the same time, the discussion between the members of the group how the design could become interactive leads to a process where the students must be able to explain to each other the scientific texts of the researchers. They must also be able to break down the text into simpler explanations that must also be understood by other students.
When other students considered the design, the impression would be enhanced by the customers touching, using or activating when they looked at the works.
How: Every student from the different countries had prepared by including edited texts about scientists and scientists from their home countries. Without knowing in advance what these texts would be used for.
1. First, they were given 30 minutes to tell each other about the researchers. To briefly try and simplify and explain the researcher's work to each other in the group.
2. The group then selects two of the researchers they considered most interesting.
3. For an hour, the students were then discussed how to shape the researcher and the researcher's work. This in a way where we as viewers could be activated.
4. The material that is available may be determined in advance and that the students must adhere to it or the access to the school may be the limitation. Perhaps the students themselves were able to produce material needed as part of the creative process.
5. They then worked for about 6 hours to complete the exhibition. At this stage, some ideas came to be reconsidered because of practical difficulties or the creative process changed the idea.
6. Presentation of the artwork was then done by the students in connection with the exhibition where they talked about the researcher, the process towards finished product and how the interactive artwork worked.
Why: A large part of this work is not the finished product but the process and discussion that is done between the students as they have to understand, mediate, simplify and be able to explain sometimes complicated research results. Being able to explain complicated facts in simpler terms is a way to show that you understand and know things. In the discussion about visualization this becomes extra obvious.
